Flights went well; we met up with little confusion despite the massive construction at the airport. Dinner was in order. We went to Bellagreen in Houston for my favorite salad .
Top on the list when these gals arrived was hunting for sea glass. We had our morning coffee the next day after they arrived and headed straight to my favorite area for searching for sea glass. We were there a couple hours, pleased with our finds. We came back and had breakfast, then took off again for sightseeing in areas they had not seen before. After dinner, we grabbed a neighbor for a foursome game of Ponytail Canasta.

And here's the group of us at Rocky Mount! We're finally all together!
Our boat ride to lunch was great. We ate at the Horny Frog, or the Horny Toad...don't remember which. But it was definitely Horny.
Surely we weren't throwing acorns at each other like 12-year-old boys!!!
I know I speak for the group when I say what a fabulous time we had and how thankful we are for Toni and Sheila who gave of their busy schedules to make time for us. And that's only the tip of the iceburg. For the scheduling, the coordinating, the logistics, the food planning and preparation, we will be eternally grateful. We thank you for the hospitality and the generosity you showed us. And above all that, we're thankful for the new friendship of two great women. We will cherish that as well as the many fun memories that were made. We hope to see you two in Arizona this winter. Sheila, tell us when , and we'll set a place for you at the card table.

The remaining photos are of the return trip that Carol, Karen and I took back to my place. Below them are a few additional from Rocky Mount that got left out. They were too good not to include.

We discovered on this trip that the U.S. has national rivers. Here we are on a trail leading to an overlook of the Buffalo River in northern Arkansas within the Buffalo River National Park.
At Billy Bob's Dairy Land in Branson, Missoui, where we had delicious good 'ol American hamburgers and shakes. Oh, yeah!
...Another peeps trip
Rocky Mount, here we come!
It was a fantastic few days when two of my peeps flew in to Texas to make a drive with me up to the Lake of the Ozarks to meet with MORE friends for a few days of relaxation, togetherness and Ponytail Canasta. We made the most of the drive up, three days of sightseeing in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas, areas the two had never experienced.
We had a great time with our other peeps, all of whom had also driven in from different parts of the country. Our home away from home for the next three days was all we could ask for, and more....as were the hostesses. It was total relaxation and an absolute grand time.
We all dispersed on a Wednesday morning, said our good-byes, knowing that we'd all be together again in a few months.
The return trip for us three was slightly different, still enjoyable, ending back on the Port Bolivar peninsula in Texas for a last view of the Gulf and some coastal scenery.
There were a few from our group who could not make the trip, but I have a feeling they knew we were thinking of them and wishing for them.
